Based on the blurb, this book sounded right up my alley but Evie's behaviour just got on my nerves since the beginning. I could understand her grief but I hated the way she behaved sometimes. She didn't even properly apologise for her outbursts and I could not fathom how she and Jenner jumped into adopting a child together without even having a detailed and proper conversation. The whole lying to adoption agency part was also blasphemous. They met after four years and with the way Evie left, Jenner should've been mad at her but all his pov included was how he was willing to do anything to get her back. Also, some things like Evie being a plus size girl and her being from Oklahoma were repeated so many times that I got tired of it. I lost interest in the book by the time I reached 50% tbh. I really wanted to like this book but unfortunately it was a miss for me.

Two down and a whole lot more to go. Oh man...I said in my last review that I had to add 6 more books to my TBR written by [a:Siena Trap|43692640|Siena Trap|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1695930994p2/43692640.jpg], all linked in some way to the Indy Speed Hockey series. Well, now thanks to [b:Frozen Heart Face-Off|209447379|Frozen Heart Face-Off (Indy Speed Hockey, #2)|Siena Trap|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1726420309l/209447379._SY75_.jpg|215635898], I need to add another series that currently has [b:Festive Faking|219183024|Festive Faking (Rust Canyon #1)|Siena Trap|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1726345369l/219183024._SY75_.jpg|226106348] out and 3 more in the pipeline. Siena introduces us to the Rust Canyon series through Evie and her brother and it is now added to my TBR.

Okay, so in [b:A Bunny for the Bench Boss|209447377|A Bunny for the Bench Boss (Indy Speed Hockey, #1)|Siena Trap|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1721609114l/209447377._SY75_.jpg|215635896], we meet Jenner, and it is obvious that he still has a thing for his ex-wife. He is looking for his second chance and is never going to move on from his mistake of letting her go. Now is Jenner's opportunity to get Evie back.

This story takes us through the difficulties their marriage faced the first time around with infertility and the effects it can have on a couple. It was heartbreaking to see that pain, especially from Evie's POV but also from Jenner's. He was torn up by the pain his wife was facing and the mental battle she lived through every day.

[b:Frozen Heart Face-Off|209447379|Frozen Heart Face-Off (Indy Speed Hockey, #2)|Siena Trap|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1726420309l/209447379._SY75_.jpg|215635898] takes us through the journey they face of healing, both as individuals and as a couple, and finding new hope in restarting their relationship and finding that family they always wanted. Maturity, space, and a new perspective are what they needed to come out on the other side stronger than before.

While this book is still spicey, it's not the same as [b:A Bunny for the Bench Boss|209447377|A Bunny for the Bench Boss (Indy Speed Hockey, #1)|Siena Trap|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1721609114l/209447377._SY75_.jpg|215635896]. There Bristol and Maddox were a new couple, driven by lust and passion and the need to discover each other. Here we have the story of Evie and Jenner. It's a reconnecting, where it is clear that they still have passion and lust but they already know each other and have already gone through that "animal in heat" phase and have now moved on to the "comfort in building forever" phase. I consider this a classic romance story and I am so happy that Jenner and Evie found their way back to each other.

I also enjoyed the body positivity in Evie and that Jenner not only accepted her the way she was, but he praised and sought her out because of it.

2nd book in the series!
It’s dual point of view!
The author did such a good job describing the raw emotion the characters go through that I felt like I was part of it! She touch beautifully on some sensitive topics! Had me crying at times! Also The author gives some SPICY SPICY scenes… I had to set that book down a minute! Haha

Jenner is definitely a cinnamon roll MMC, but a freak in the sheets! He is a caption of a progressional hockey team! I love the love and support he gives Evie through the entire book! I also appreciate the friendship he has with Maddox (I cannot wait to go read about Maddox in the first book of the series)

Evie is a FIRECRACKER and I loved it (most of the time). Evie is Jenners wife/ex wife. The beginning had me questioning her choices, but she was taking on so much internally and was completely lost in what was happening! By the middle of the book I was going through her emotions WITH HER! She definitely grew on me and enjoyed reading all the love she gave!

I want to thank Happily Booked PR and th3 author Siena Trap for my ARC copy!

So much better than the first book! Evie and Jenner were such a great second chance romance. I felt so bad for Jenner, but I also understood that Evie was battling her own demons also. These two weathered the storm of infertility and depression and came out the other side as parents.

The relationship between Jenner and Evie had a very strong foundation (built off page) and I liked how the author portrayed their infertility struggles.
