I liked the art a lot. The story was just so-so - I've found that although I enjoy Thor in the movies, in the comics he falls a bit flat for me.

Definitely an obvious quality drop due to the author change, it felt...off.

Thor = awesome. It's really as simple as that. Apart from the issues that follow up on the last issue of JMS' run, this volume also contains a story featuring Lady Sif, which was all right, a story by Stan Lee from Thor 600, and a very funny Mini Marvels story, which made me laugh a lot. If you know and like Thor, you should read this, if you don't you should go and pick up the first trade of J. Michael Straczynski's run. Verily!

This was a lucky find, since I found it in a second hand shop and picked it up. I have grown to love Thor the way Gillen and J. Michael Strazinski write him and this was a perfect continuation of the other Thor volumes I have picked up. As always, Thor is noble, a warrior and someone you want to have at your back. He is also respected by Balder, despite being exiled and no longer the king. I like the healthy brotherly dynamic here and also how Thor is respected not just because of his age, but because he has something to bring to the table.

He's not painted as clever, but he has heart and that is why he and Captain America are my favourites. They make their mistakes, but overall, they have good intentions.
