emotional reflective sad medium-paced

Heartwrenching, honest, real, raw, and so relatable. I loved the focus on food, music, and the small moments of connection. Grief is so many things, and I found myself nodding in understanding or crying because I could relate to so many of the emotions, thoughts, and frustrations. Only a few books have really touched me and my experience of loss and grief. This is one of them.

I hoped this one would be good, a lot of friends had it on their bookshelves, but unfortunately it wasn't. It's basically a monologue from the main character who's a pretty flat character herself, and no actual story. Maybe I just had too high of hopes for a book on the front shelf of every bookstore around me, but sad to he disappointed by a nonexistent storyline.

A very raw and honest memoir that I overall enjoyed, but it felt hard for me to get through at times, and some parts didn’t feel super compelling to me :( no hate no shade still enjoyed!
