One of those "kids' books" that is still beautiful to read as an adult.

A book about life and death, the passage of time, seasons, slow living, and growing up.
At the beginning of each chapter, White set the mood and transported me with beautiful descriptions of the environments—I could taste, smell, feel, see everything in my mind’s eye. What a lovely book. I can see why this is a classic.

We listened to this as an audiobook while my kid was home sick. I have always loved this book, but I had forgotten how beautiful it is, with poetic passages I found very moving. The audio we listened to was read by EB White, who has such a rich and pleasurable voice. We loved his accent, and you can hear the pages turning.

Man I loved this book as a kid. Emotionally formative story

I’ve read this book many times as a child and it still feels fresh in my mind.

"It's not often that someone comes along who is a good friend and a great writer."

Read this with my seven year old. We both enjoyed it.
