An interesting approach to a crime/mystery. Immerse completely in one group of characters associated with the murdered victim - maybe even resolve an unrelated issue they are having - and then move to the next.
mysterious medium-paced

This one took a long time to get into. Much of the book involves Detective Kaga going to different places to do interviews for his investigation, but we also get some peeks into the daily lives of the ones he visits. It's a very non-traditional format, which I appreciated, but the wealth of characters made it hard to follow at times.

Huhuhu.. sedih, senang, haru semuanya campur aduk jadi satu.

Kecerdasan Detektif Kaga benar-benar bikin aku amazed!

Can stories be woven like intricate tapestries?
Yes, & Keigo Higashino does it masterfully.

The book unfolds like a puzzle, with each chapter revealing a new piece. The plot unravels gradually, pulling the reader in deeper as the mystery becomes more layered and compelling. Higashino’s attention to detail and the completeness of each narrative thread make this not just a whodunnit, but an experience.
Giles Murray deserves credit for the smooth and thoughtful translation. The beauty, rhythm, and intricacy of the original seem well preserved, which is rare.
The story itself reminds one of the butterfly effect. How a seemingly small action can ripple across the fabric of space and time. It’s a graceful portray of how interconnected our lives truly are, and how every little act inevitably leaves an imprint on others.
Highly recommended for fans of intelligent mysteries, psychological depth, and elegant storytelling.

i was hoping for the legit plot twist like what keigo offered me on Malice, but if you're a detail-oriented/perfectionist/VERY observant/easily falls into slice of life stories (me THAT'S ME) you're gonna like this book.
