Geen idee, maar het verhaal pakte bij mij niet echt aan. Ik vind het moeilijk om dit boek te recenseren want ergens was het verhaal leuk om te lezen en wou ik doorlezen maar aan de andere kant was ik niet overtuigd.
De schrijfstijl was aangenaam waardoor het wel vlotl las, maar het blijft een moeilijk boek. Ik vond James en zijn vriendin ook soms heel irritant.
Hoe meer ik naar het einde kwam, hoe leuker ik het verhaal vond dus misschien zal ik deel 2 meer appreciëren?

Normaal vind ik boeken leuker dan de serie of film. Maar deze serie was beter dan het boek. In de serie hebben ze de cringy delen van het boek eruit gehaald en juist hele mooie emotionele delen die er in het boek niet zijn toegevoegd. Daarom maar de 3 sterren ookal was het boek leuk serie is gwn beter

The ending makes me think that it is not meant to be read as a standalone.
I listened to the audiobook on 2x speed, otherwise I would not have made it through.
I picked it randomly from my library without knowledge or thought. I don't think it's written particularly skillfully or stands out to me (except for the ending which surprised me as a choice though not written with much surprise in the sense of suspense). It's just not for me.
But if you knowingly choose this, I can see how fans of this kind of book will enjoy it.
