This reminded me of Crooked Kingdom and I don’t care that it was similar because it was still different enough and I enjoyed Crooked Kingdom, okay?
So action packed, so edge of my seat, such a page turner. It was so fun to read and I savoured the small moments between Alex and Darlington like they were drops of water while in a desert. (PLEASE ADD MORE IN THE NEXT BOOK…OR ELSE)
But also, as fast paced as this is, i agree with what others have said. I feel like I needed time to enjoy the quiet moments a bit more with the characters.
It felt like they saved Darlington too fast and all of a sudden he joined the gang and like it was a shitty reunion.

Fantastic! Loved it even more than the first one. The visuals it created were detailed enough to really see what the author was describing but not so lengthy that it was annoying.

Honestly love this book. Due to the extensive research done by the author, the entire storyline makes the magic and darkness in this book believable. Compared to many other fantasy novels that build a completely new world from scratch, Bardugo effortlessly builds her story into our existing world.
I thought the pace of this was perfect, but I regret reading this one months after reading Ninth House. It was a little confusing at first as I had forgotten many details about the first book.
