A slower read with an unusual narrative structure. The end takes you by surprise and leaves you reeling.

I wanted to like this book, it was an interesting concept. But the author couldn't get a fix on who the characters were. It was frustrating. Was Wilder shy, confident or unstable.

Dagger Man was wrapped up behind the scenes.

Harper, Nat, Pearl, Sky/Skye are purposefully vague. It was unclear.

This was a book I was initially disappointed by, but the more I think about it, the more I love it. There's something about the narrative that feels so unclean, especially the more you go into it, switch narrators. The chapter in the middle where text is all garbled felt "wrong" in all the right ways and unsettled me the way few books do.
To discuss this book is to discuss spoilers so without going into things, there is a twist, there is closure, and while I felt cheated from it at first the more I think about it the more it paints the character in a fascinating light.
Read this one, you won't be disappointed (for long).

Really unique book - Ward has a real knack for writing stories where you'll rarely be able to guess what happens next. I often have trouble following stories with many characters, so I did get a bit tangled up during this book, but everything made sense in the end. Really enjoyed this book!!
