A great insightful read. Esther strikes again. I recommend to anyone in a relationship or who ever plans on being in a relationship.
This was a very good book. The audible was read by the author, and was great. This tackles tough subjects in a refreshingly open-minded way. A must read for couples therapists, but also important for individual therapists.
A really interesting look at infidelity, through a lens of compassion and wisdom.
This is the best book I’ve read this year, so far. I was intermittently listening to Dr Perel’s podcasts and interviews on Youtube before I got intrigued enough to buy her two books on the Kindle store. So much food for thought, and the approach is refreshingly modern and honest. I’ve long been worn out with the soap opera plots and predictable mainstream fanfare on infidelity. Everyone throws a stone on the transgressor. Here, there is some balance. This book effectively digs deeper on the issues and encourages its readers to view this issue with a new and open mind. Adding to its allure is Perel’s beautiful way with words. There is something so poetic with the way she narrates vignettes from her clinical practice to illustrate concepts or insights. I hope she writes more books; the world certainly needs more of her especially with the new complexities relationships have taken in this modern and tech-driven world.
Again, Esther Perel takes us on a journey to self-discovery. It's an invitation to question our definition of monogamy, infidelity. The stories shared in this book give a large spectrum of perspectives that one can relate to one way or another. One thing for sure, we're living a society shift and this book helps seeing the good outcome that chaos can bring.
