This was a good graphic novel with a very interesting plot! I really liked the artwork and it really got me into the story and the world. I liked that magic strength was based on the length of hair. The characters were good and well rounded. There is also some trans representation which was unexpected and done really well! We get a hint of something going on with the Kingdom and a possible rebellion. I'd be interested to see where this story goes.

4.5 - This was a great first book in a series (duology?) but it does feel very much like a first book in a series. That's not a bad thing (again its pretty close to a 5 star) and while the whole story was wonderful it felt like a lot of set up that will pay off later. I really liked the characters & the art style and hope to get to volume 2 soon.
