Great start to what I hope will be many more books! Can't wait to read more.

Witchy was the first graphic novel I've read in a long time and I enjoyed it! There was a little bit of a learning curve when I started this novel, as I felt like I had to relearn how to read the story and take in the unsaid things from the pictures. But it got easier as I read and by the end of the book it was a breeze.
I had a hard time getting into this story at first. The magic confused me and other than Nyneve, the characters are not really flushed out. They are only in the story for a few pages, before they were gone and you don't really get to see more of them. I'm sure in future novels this will be fixed but it was disappointing for me as I would've enjoyed learning more about the secondary characters in this book.
Witchy's plot was intriguing. I've never heard of a magical system quite like this one and since this book is simply just an introduction to this world, it will be interesting to see where this series goes in the future. Witchy was a good story with some great artwork, but parts of it just didn't resonate with me. I would reccomend it to fans of fantasy realms who are looking for a good graphic novel!

I've been enjoying this web comic for years, so I was excited to see that it is being published as a book. The story is compelling, the world is intriguing and magical, the characters are well-realised and the art is beautiful. I can't wait to read future volumes and find out the whole of Nyneve's story!

Sooooo good. It is such an amazing hero's journey without the typical trope of the overly whiny protagonist. The main character has a lot to decide for herself and there is guidance along the way but there is also a respect for her to make her own choices. It was funny, an interesting premise for magic and how magic is balanced in the world, there was a little exploration of identity and even a discussion on ethics! It was refreshing in a lot of ways. I don't know what others' experiences have been but I am glad I read it!

3.5 stars. Really good queer representation. Sometimes the art gets a little vague but overall I really enjoy the style. Some very abrupt transitions (and ending). I'll be very interested to see where this story goes.

A beautiful, captivating story set in a world that is impossible not to explore. Characters you want to stay with and root for and along for when they are gone. A wonderful novel that I want more of.

3.5 // 5 stars

I really enjoyed this graphic novel. I liked the art style, I thought the world was interesting and the magic system captivating, the characters compelling, and the number one thing I liked was that the pacing was wonderful. A lot of graphic novels move pretty quickly when I read them due to being mostly art, but although this one also was a quick read, its pacing was spectacular.

I wish we'd gotten even more about the magic and world as a whole, though. I didn't think we were overwhelmed or info-dumped on, but I always love seeing more about magic systems so it would've been cool to see a bit more of the magic in use. I also love strong friendships and I'm hoping some of the relationships we saw forming in this one develop into strong friendships in a future volume. Overall, I'm just left with a lot of questions about the world, the characters around our main, and what everything means for the plot.

I'm definitely interested in seeing what happens next in this world. I thought that, overall, this first graphic novel is a strong base and set up for future installments. I'm left wondering what will happen next, I'm emotionally invested in our main character, and I'm intrigued by the world and magic. Not to mention, the art style was beautiful and unique from a lot of graphic novels I've read.
