If you're looking to learn more about Buddhist ideology, then this book is a fine place to start. However, I do not know overall how Western, 21st century audiences will respond to the flowery, meditative writing style Thich Nhat Hanh used in 1990. I felt like the concepts and ideas presented were hard to grasp and relate to from my perspective in 2022 (although realities like the turbulent state of the world and the need for more compassionate people are just as relevant today they were then). I highly recommend reading this book as opposed to listening to it. While the narration fit the tone of the book, I had a hard time staying awake while listening.

I read this as someone for whom mindfulness is an everyday practice and I really enjoyed it. There are some bits that I didn't entirely agree with, towards the end of the book, but I don't think they're harmful approaches either. I would recommend this to most people however I think that you'd get the most enjoyment if you're open to/a little more familiar with mindfulness already.

Thich Nhat Hanh's message is a simple, but profound one. We can have Peace NOW; only if we stop looking for it from outside things. It is right here inside of us. All we have to do is be mindful. I enjoyed it immensely.

Thich Nhat Hanh shares so much wisdom in his books and this is no different. It's a peaceful listen, with so many nuggets to think about and apply in my life. It's not my favourite of his books, but certainly added value to my life.

A heartwarming book. The energy from this book is peace abundant and inspirational. Mindfulness is so important and books like this bring joy to my life. It is filled with reminders of the importance of peace and I think anytime is a good time to practise and refresh our mindset to these factors.

I give this book 3.75 stars.
