"You’re a good man, Viktor Adamovic."
"I’m
your man, Lucy Adamovic."

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this book. While the first half is mainly character-driven and fluffy, the second part amazes with a plot-driven dramatic showdown and an interesting take on what it means to be a monster. A hilarious and charming read with an epilogue that had me smiling from ear to ear.

Tropes:
☼ marriage of convenience
☼ hurt/comfort
☼ rich x poor
☼ cinnamon roll mmc
☼ monster x human

Was this a masterpiece with no flaws? Nah. Did I still rate it 5 stars? You bet your ass I did. If my fictional man ain’t like Viktor, I don’t want him. And I related to Lucy waaaaaaaay too much

I would categorize this as a cute instalove slice of life.

No tension or angst. Just full on fluff and cute moments. Characters are kind of fleshed out, but ultimately, just feels like I crash landed in the middle of their life and everything from that point onward is all the mattered.

Author tried to instill a plot outside of the love, but it felt flat, corny, typical and anticlimactic.

That aside, all the happiness and cuteness is sweet and short.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. I was expecting a very light hearted and probably silly plot line with speed dating. I got a marriage of convenience with a MMC that was possessive in a protective way BUT openly acknowledged the FMCs right to make any decision she felt was right. I openly laughed at several points in the book, especially when the MMC said ridiculously possessive things and got his ass handed to him in response.
I loved that the FMC was curvy and confident about how good she looked most of the time. Her previous emotionally abusive relationship damaged her self image, but she still knew she was hot AF somewhere inside her.
The only thing that kept this from 5 stars was that the finale seemed really rushed. It needed more pages filled with the drama of the moment to do it justice.

I am obsessed with this book and Isabel's writing style. She's hilarious and LOLd plenty of times. I am looking forward to more of her work. I had to go follow her insta and request to join her Facebook group all from just this one book.

Monster Match!

Lucy meets Viktor at a monster match and was hiding listening to what others had to say when Viktor came up behind her and asked her what she was doing. Lucy is hilariously honest which was so refreshing to read. Viktor was attracted to Lucy right away. I very much enjoyed this book and plan to see what else this author has written. (Loved the Supernatural references in the book because that was one of my favorite shows).
