This was a certifiably good time! How could you not love a marriage of convenience with a nutty FMC and a lonely 400 year old billionaire monster? I loved both MCs and I adored their meet cute. Lucy is 93% me, and I'm debating how best to sue for personality plagiarism.
Exhibit A: Severe case of loud verbal diarrhea without a filter and complete inability to control facial expressions. Check.
Exhibit B: Weirdo obsessed with pop culture and snorts when laughing. Check.
Exhibit C: "Viktor...listened to her hour-long dissertation on why The Rise of Skywalker was the worst misogynistic piece of crap ever made and how it nearly destroyed her enjoyment of the entire series." Check.
Exhibit D: Four words. Fleece. Star Wars. Bathrobe. Yeah, I have a fleece Jedi robe. What of it?
The beginning of the book was paced perfectly. But once we got past that 50% mark, it felt too rushed. And our villain, Branka, was a bit OTT. Then again, I don't believe in good and evil. Everyone's a shade of grey. (Which probably goes a long way to explaining my taste in media.)
If you like feisty (but thoughtful) FMCs and MMCs who are Cinnamon Rolls on the inside, "Who did this to you!?" on the outside, this book is for you. Bonus: a touch of praise kink. "She’d never known how much she wanted to be a good girl until that moment."

This is going to be kind of a mixed review...I really liked the majority of this book. It was cute and sweet with a side of steam. Lucy (h) meets Viktor (H) at a monster speed dating event being held at his house. Both have been unappreciated and lacked acceptance until they meet each other and have an instant attraction and chemistry. Viktor proposes a marriage of convenience to help her and because he needs a green card. Their relationship was adorable and angst-free, then the book takes a weird (to me) turn close to the end, but closes with their HEA. Written in third person, dual POV. Slight om drama from h's ex and slight ow drama regarding H's creator (neither has any romantic feelings towards either one during this story), neither were virgins.
Lucy recently broke up with her cheating boyfriend, who kicked her out of their apartment, and also recently lost her job so she's pretty down on her luck at the start of the book. She also has no family or friends to speak of. Viktor is a reanimated monster with some darkness in his past, who's been alive hundreds of years and is wealthy, but considered an oddity even in the monster community. He's such a cinnamon roll, being caring and gentlemanly to Lucy, but also has a bit of a rough side that he tries to keep under wraps. In turn she added some much needed light to his life. I enjoyed them connecting at the speed dating event, going on their first date, and acclimating to being married. Viktor wants to wait to have sex so this is a slow burn in that department, but there's plenty of tension between them. Once the steam occurs, it is spicy, although I think there was only one extended scene.
I loved how protective they each were of the other - Lucy's ex gets his comeuppance and there's an awesome scene with the immigration agent evaluating them. Most of the book is just Lucy and Viktor, but my favorite part of the book was a scene where adopted dogs join their family. I'm a huge dog lover and my heart went mushy and I ate it up.
Not much happens other than these two and I was ok with that, I like sweet, low conflict books esp with monster goodness from time to time. I had some questions about the world and the reanimating, but I was fine with it. Where this book lost me was in the last quarter (maybe, I wasn't looking at my %) when the conflict comes in related to Viktor's past and suddenly I had so many questions. It was also pretty jarring because there's suddenly action/suspense/danger. Then the conflict resolution felt rushed and the epilogue was a summary of how everything ended up afterwards and that Lucy and Viktor lived HEA. The conflict and ending just didn't work for me personally, but because most of the story did, I settled on 3 stars for this one.

Utterly adorable.
There is a monster who is overly careful because he thinks he is too monstrous and a woman who thinks she is unlovable because of her life experience. Add dog adoption, a marriage of convenience, using that "montrousness" in the bedroom, with a little ex-girlfriend drama? That's a recipe for a good time.
Much like all of Isabel Jordan's books, I read it and found myself smiling the whole time.

This was cute. I haven't read a Frankenstein monster book before and was slightly disappointed that he was still "ruggedly handsome" - I was sort of expecting a more monstrous appearance. It's pretty much insta love, fun and fluffy for the most part. External conflict which I prefer, but it did all seem to be wrapped up very easily and I would have enjoyed a bit more plot.

I have read better fanfiction, but it is a funny(if you can handle cringe), silly quick romance where the monster from frankenstein is a total hottie and the main female is not like other girls. I read it as a part of a reading challange otherwise I probably would have dnf'ed it. But I did enjoy it for what it was.
