2.5 - a few good nuggets but not a fan of the delivery. Don’t listen to the audio book, horrible quality.

"We either win or we learn. So take the fuck-ups as new ways of getting good information about yourself."

"Our ability to discriminate between real danger and perceived danger is an imperfect system. The brain is going to err on the side of caution, even if that means you shut down when you don’t actually need to."

A fun and quick book about learning how to deal with your shit lol. I really liked the idea of respecting your own boundaries and treating yourself with as much empathy and compassion that you'd show others while also retraining your brain to know that every minor inconvenience is not a fight or flight situation and sometimes you just have to chill out lol. Respect the parts of yourself that is only trying to protect you while also learning how to tell yourself when you're actually not in danger.

Attempted to listen to, but the audio quality was so incredibly poor it was impossible. Sounds like she recorded it herself in a bathroom on her earbuds. Also, from what I did listen to, she had some good information, but she over uses curse words. I get it, it's supposed to give us good info delivered in a way that people will relate to, but it came across like she read a book of "cool slang" and wanted to use each of the words multiple times. And even though I expected profanity, you could go a few sentences without using a curse word and we still would have gotten the point. Tone it down a bit. Just, don't try so hard and I'm sure the book would have been great. Also, get it professionally recorded.

Such an easy read and is super helpful in explaining different mental health issues! Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to understand their mental health issues and how they are often our mind's way of best dealing with trauma or shitty situations. So so good!

I liked a lot of the information this book gave but the language was just too frequent and unnecessary-almost like the author was trying too hard to be funny in a really annoying way. Some parts WERE funny but I feel like the constant cussing / trying to be funny took away from the actual book and great info that was presented. I still enjoyed it and liked the information on the brain/mental health that she provided.
inspiring fast-paced

I enjoyed the content of this book, but I listened to the audiobook and the quality of the recording is not good. It absolutely deserves a re-record!!

A fantastic way to look at anxiety.
