3.5 stars rounded up due to the illustrations. This story took a turn into an area that I normally don’t like. I have a hard time not rolling my eyes when things go into supernatural realms, perhaps a flaw I have, but for the sake of the story I rolled with it. And I’m glad I did.

This book was amazing. I've been getting into thriller/mystery/crime books lately and this did not disappoint. It was difficult to put down especially at bed time. I was not expected that ending but as I remember the beginning of the book and put pieces together it makes sense. I can't imagine what is going through someone's mind when they think of the things that Caroline did. I mean her intrusive thoughts throughout the book really took over and won. I can't imagine . This was my first book by this author and can't wait to read more by him.

I kept seeing this book all over the reading/book groups and booktok and figured that I had to give it a try. And my goodness, this book was so good! Other than the fact that the story features Philly heavily (Philly girl here!), the characters, the plot, the illustrations, the twist… EVERYTHING! This is my first book written by Jason Rekulak and I’m defiantly going to read his other work.

Wow was this a roller coaster of a story. While I was able to piece some of it together, I was whole heartedly not expecting the way this ended. I was definitely on the edge of my seat during most of this one!
