I liked half the stories, can't remember the other half. Those ones I do remember are eerie and creative, one fun concept at a time. His writing in these short stories is veined with a poetic flair.

The authors ability to make mundane, simple things truly terrifying is beautiful. Absolutely loved this book and really took my time with it.
Hard to go wrong with Bradbury. There were definitely some I enjoyed more than others, like "The Skeleton"--which did a fantastic job of capturing the neuroses of noticing your embodied condition--and "The Emissary", with its subtle horror with a tinge of sweetness. I really liked the unacknowledged unhingedness of "The Man Upstairs", wherein a small boy's massive crime is seemingly dismissed without consequence. "The Wind"'s building tension was also fantastic.

How could I rate with any other than 5 stars a book containing the horrifying tale of a man that discovers that deep inside him lives a very spooky skeleton? Truly a masterpiece.
A luscious mix of supernatural stories from a master: fantasy, horror, magical realism, and some which are just downright creepy.
Favorites from this collection:
1. The Crowd: a twisted tale on people who immediately crowd accident sites
2. The Scythe: a wheatfield that harbors life-threatening secrets
3. The Emissary: a dog that brings gifts to a bed-ridden child brought something different one night
4. Skeleton: a man thinks his bones are sentient
5. Touched With Fire: a creepy twist on people with anger management issues
