Bradbury in his element, full of character, suspense, mystery, power and the unrestrained love of all that exists in the world.
It's currently pounding rain as I jot this down, and I can't think but that Bradbury himself lent me a little ambience to read this to.
The October Country perfectly rides the line between dry comedy, classic gothic mystery, and childhood fantasy tale, keeping in mind all the while that there is strangeness and wonder in every nook and cranny of this old world, if you look hard enough.

Very well written weird tales. Only one was actually scary to me, the one about the dog, but if you read for language and like weird stories this is a good anthology.

Delightfully frightening, the stuff of nightmares. I found the story "The Small Assassin" especially unnerving.
