Had to return to the library and couldn't get it back very quickly due to other holds, and by the time I got my copy I've moved past the desire to want to read autumnal/horror books. Will likely revisit it next year!

Maybe it's because it's early Bradbury, but these stories just didn't do anything for me. The dialogue feels like it was written by someone who learned how people speak from watching 1940s Hollywood movies. The ideas were sometimes interesting, but the writing style (and some of its content) seemed mired in the age in which it was written.

October is over! Saving it for next year.

While definitely speculative, it was not the scifi I was hoping for.

Filled with some absurd and macabre stories, the collection is a bit uneven. Some truly great stories are in here, and some forgettable ones. But even when Ray Bradbury is not at his best, he is fantastic.
