This was... interesting to say the least. Deadpool fights all of the US Presidents after they're brought back from the dead, in a plot line so ridiculous it can only be a Deadpool comic. It was a lot of fun, as everything with Deadpool is.

Deadpool is definitely an interesting character, but I'm not sure he's one I care to continue reading about.

I liked it. There was an Arrested Development reference, hilarious dead elephant jokes, and a lecherous Ben Franklin (aka regular Ben Franklin). Plus, I did not know Deadpool was Canadian. I learned a lot!

I've heard so many great things about Deadpool that I was excited when the comics were being released monthly in Romania. While I liked the character of Wade Wilson, these first 6 issues started great and went downhill from around the 4th one. I hope the next volume is better, or I'll stop reading this series.

I had such high hopes. I ALWAYS have such high hopes for Deadpool. And somehow it never quite hits for me.

I'd love to hear some peoples' favorites because I feel like there's something here that just isn't hitting the spot for me.

Have to say, I think Brian Posehn is a hilarious guy, but the script didn't work for me. I mean, it's a trade paperback with good art and some good concepts, but I couldn't finish it. The jokes are mostly pop culture references that didn't do much for me. I mean, I know we get in trouble when we say, "These jokes are all just THIS or THAT" because eventually you get into "These jokes are just little stories with funny little parts that are a little awkward and expressed through a clever point of view." But when I say the jokes are pop culture references, they're the type that are more about saying that a piece of pop culture exists as opposed to making a comment on it or pushing it into a novel structure or situation.

The script was also pretty confusing in terms or where are we and what the hell is going on. Which I'm totally willing to overlook in the interest of hilarity. But without the hilarity and without the through line, I had to call it quits.

Anyway, what are the best Deadpool storylines?

As a longtime Deadpool fan, I feel like my desires are pretty simple. If I read a Deadpool story, I'm looking for humor, silliness and over the top violence. In all three categories, Posehn and company more than deliver. The idea of some necromancer bringing the dead presidents back to life for Deadpool to have to take out because it's too embarrassing for Captain America was just too perfectly Deadpool. I read this right before watching the movie and turns out that that was a wonderful choice. If you like over the top silliness and violence, this series should be on your list!

Deadpool is in the best possible hands with Posehn/Duggan/Moore, and this is PACKED with jokes. The story for this arc is pretty silly, but there's so much personality on the page that it's super fun anyway. Looking forward to the rest of the run and, hopefully, some more substantial storylines!
