4.1 AVERAGE

it took me 4 days to read this because I was so bored. The ending redeemed it a bit, but not even CLOSE to being as good as Kulti

Easy 5 stars for me
adventurous emotional funny inspiring sad medium-paced

Well shit. At first I didn't want to finish it because I figured Aiden was a toxic asshole but holy air ball. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I enjoyed it. Looking back on how I felt fresh after finishing it and now, a few days later, I have to change the rating to 4 stars.

I enjoyed the plot, the characters and how their relationship grew.

4.75 ⭐️

I originally intended to give 4 stars to this book, I enjoyed it but thought it was a bit slow and while I literally adored Vanessa, I wasn't completely seduced by Aiden yet...But this was until the 200-ish last pages of the book. It got freaking amazing from there. I fell in love with Aiden (soooooo in love), the chemistry between him and Vanessa was absolutely amazing (they had chemistry from the beginning though) and idk I just couldn't stop reading, giggling and smiling like an idiot (and sometimes getting teary eyed not gonna lie).
Their slow burn was slower than usual but it was absolutely worth it. Mariana Zapata literally never disappoints.

DID NOT FINISH

DNF'd at 35%. But I skipped to the end to see what happened and I was still so bored I didn't even care.

This book was so unbelievably boring. It could have been severely edited down and still been too long.

The internal dialog was SO much - far, far, far too much. SO much repetition in the prose and this was NOT done for effect. It was just bad writing.
FMC Vanessa bordered on annoying because of this repetition. MMC Aiden was just such a silent, moody ass that I am sure had his reasons for being so, but very quickly I lost the will to care why.

In the end, this book was padded so much to get more page turns on KU. That's all.

Also, no sexy times until 97% in? Criminal. Fired. Not a romance.

listen idk what possessed me to pick this up,,,,,,,,but i actually had a good time. this is a slow burn that makes u work for it tho

Weirdly enough this was entertaining, I wouldn't think it would be, seeing the number of pages in this damn book.

0-40%: Interesting enough premise, kinda dragging ngl (Aiden's a bitch)
40-70%: I'm getting really into it, really like Mariana Zapata's writing. (Nothing has happened)
70+%: Are you gonna make out or nah

I was shaking my head (literally) cause this was too realistic, so many lost opportunities for any kind of heated scenes. The amount of times these two shared a bed and nothing happened...
Nevertheless, I generally really liked it and will look into her other works.
emotional funny hopeful slow-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: Complicated
Flaws of characters a main focus: Complicated

this was just... kinda boring.

i have read and loved previous books that I've read by mariana zapata, but I've also read and not loved other books by her, so mariana zapata is definitely a hit-or-miss kind of author for me.

i felt like aiden didn't really have a personality, and vanessa's story arc was not intriguing, in my opinion.

also, i love a good slow burn, but this was way too slow, and at least 100 pages needed to have been cut from this
