I liked this a lot! Honest, straightforward. Tons of scripture and loved the emphasis on honest emotions, & the chapter on Job’s grief.

Been following the EHS ministry for almost two years so I was expecting a lot from this. Overall, it left a lot to be desired.

This was not my favorite read, and I didn’t love his approach all the time BUT it’s a book that gave me so much food for thought in how I approach emotions in my relationship with God.
This book has been so instrumental to me
In charting a course for emotional health that is centered on the truth of the gospel. In a culture that praises “being authentic,” it is refreshing to read a take on that kind of living that looks to Scripture and the example of Jesus as guide. To read and reread, I definitely recommend!

As a therapist and a Christ-follower, I love this book! The premise: You can't be spiritually mature if you are emotionally immature. I couldn't agree more. This is a great, practical book for making sure that your Christian life looks different than your past non-Christian life. Buy it.
Great book about how to address your emotional and spiritual needs. Encourages you to allow yourself to feel emotions rather than by passing it quoting scripture. I’ve been guilty of ignoring negative emotions. But being honest about them with God promotes spiritual growth. Book also encourages us to stop and reflect on God’s presence “daily office”, not turning to God to get something but about being with Someone. Practice Gods presence daily while practicing the presence of people. God speaks to us through our feelings don’t ignore them. I liked part about using faith-based activities as a way of not dealing with them
