There is not much story in it but tons and tons of descriptions. Would maybe be better as a comic or a short film. Also I can't take the description of the aliens seriously.

Once again, H.P. Lovecraft sends the reader down into an incredible abyss of imagination, characterized by astral projection experienced by one Professor Peaslee. The frightening thing is, Professor Peaslee not only claims to have seen and "remembered " a totally alien and astoundingly ancient race that dwelt beneath the Australian desert. He actually escaped the hidden terrors that plagued his memories from beyond time itself.
A fascinating tale sure to unlock the darkest realms of anyone's nightmares!

I wish this had been shorter - I was surprised at how bored I was.

A little slower and more rambling than some of Lovecraft’s other works. Comparable to Mountain of Madness but somehow misses the mark and ends up slow and never quite builds the right level of tension.

Mysterious, mind-bending, and descriptive. Another brilliant serving from Lovecraft!

Probably the best thing I've ever read by Lovecraft. Even at his best, he's too wordy, but this has some fascinating ideas in it. A species that sends its minds forward to inhabit another species to escape disaster? A species obsessed with cataloging every detail about every world and species that it can? Fascinating. It would actually be more interesting to get the Yith perspective than one of their victims', but I still highly recommend this one.
