Bruce is back and still a curmudgeon. Following the events in Mother Bruce where he becomes the mother to 4 geese and Hotel Bruce when 3 mice move in, Bruce decides enough is enough and wants to get away from the rodents once and for all, and he is willing to go to the extreme (moving) to get away.
One of my favorite things about the Bruce books are the character’s expressions! Bruces’ stories are one only half told in the words, the rest can be found in the illustrations. The illustrations are so expressive and detailed giving each character a personality without it having to be explained.
And just like in the first two Bruce books, there is a definite message in the end! What do you think will make Bruce happy?

Poor poor Bruce..all he wants is to get away and have some peace and quiet and take care of his 4 geese children.... alone..but the three pesky mice have other plans. They have included themselves in as part of Bruce's family but they continue to annoy him to pieces! Bruce decides his house is too small and was frankly getting tired of the mess and mayhem that was being left behind by the mice. However, family is family and his geese children are depressed and miss the mice. Without an invitation, the mice find themselves moving back in with Bruce and the geese and all are happy..all except poor Bruce of course. But at least his kids are happy again!

Poor Bruce, again. Bruce is tired of the mice not leaving his home, so he decides to move to a new home to avoid them. However, is that really what Bruce wants? I think the Bruce books are hilarious, and this one is just as funny. So good!
For: bear fans; readers wanting a silly book.
Possible red flags: depictions of frustration and anger.

Bruce has had it with the mice living in his home. So he decides it is high time to move. But Bruce discovers that no place is perfect ;)
I have to hand it to Ryan T. Higgins......he knows how to write books that are engaging to adults as well as to children. I love it!!

I love the books by Mr. Higgins, they are fun to read to students and students love to hear them and read them. And they also like to read them on their own. Perfect for beginners and those learning English as a second language.
