Gotta day, this was so much better than I thought it would be! I loved the single mom amateur detective and the ghost detective sidekick! That a team!!

There were parts of this book that made me uncomfortable, but in all, it wasn't Cleo Coyte's best work.

I think, had the ghost been anyone but a 1950s "yeah, I like your gams ya dame!" I would have liked the book a lot more.

In my continuing quest for new mystery series, I came across The Ghost and Mrs. McClure, part of the Haunted Bookshop series by Alice Kimberly. The title reminded me of one of my favorite old movies -- The Ghost and Mrs. Muir -- so I decided to give it a try. To say that the plot borrowed heavily from the original would be an understatement. I finished the book but won't be reading any more from the series. However, the author did give credit to R. A. Dick who wrote the original book. This was a huge revelation! I didn't know the movie was based on a book! I got the library system's last remaining copy and thoroughly enjoyed it.
