Don't let the cover fool you -- this book if freaking amazing.
first read: April 2 - 3, 2015
first reread: June 20, 2015
second reread: April 3, 2016
third reread: Febryary 1 - ?, 2017
JUNE 2015 I was without internet/phone for over 24 hours, so I thought I'd reread some of those 2015 favorites so I wouldn't be upset that I couldn't update on GR.
So, of course, I reread this :)
I love this story! nothing much has changed from my previous review. I laughed at the same parts, and I am pretty sure I cried at the same parts as well. I didn't love this any less than I did the first time. This is a book I can see myself rereading time and time again.

APRIL 2015this is my 80th book read this year....and I wish it had been one of the first.
This was such an adorable, heartwarming [at times], devastating [a lot...], beautiful, gut wrenching, and amazingly wonderful book.
I laughed, I cried.....I laughed until I cried....I just...cried....and I smiled.... you would think this is 'just' another retelling of Cinderella, but, its so much more than that.
It's about a girl, who has survived a horrible accident and how she tries to deal with her life as it is now, which is so much different than what she grew up knowing. She is in a new place, with a new family, shes bullied....shes hated....but she is just so strong, and I love her to pieces.
It's about a boy, who is so much more under the surface....
its about a beautiful friendship that just might be something else entirely.
I loved this book!

“You want to know why you’ve never been able to make me cry? Because you’re trying to tear down someone who’s already hit rock bottom. You can’t make me feel any worse about myself than I already do.”

Me encanto! Un romance juvenil muy tierno y con ese aire de cuento de hadas.
Moderate: Bullying, Death of parent, Fire/Fire injury, Injury/Injury detail
Minor: Suicidal thoughts, Suicide attempt
I really enjoyed reading this one and I could barely put it down.
The only things that bothered me were that it was a bit over the top unrealistic and that Ella and Brian barely had any scenes together were they were together in real life. This made the whole being deeply in love really unbeleaviable.

You know when you open a book thinking: "I want this story to have this, this, this and that"?
Well, Cinder and Ella freaking delivered everything I expect in a contemporary romance. Every single thing. It has a lot of growing, lots of sadness, lots of (good) drama, a bit of fun. I'm pretty wowed.
Somethings I'd like to highlight:
- How therapy was always there and taken seriously. It was so important in Ella's recovery, I'm glad it wasn't dismissed like some YA back a few years ago used to.
- No Insta love bullshit. I'm so sick of that shit lol. Love was based on a long friendship, on years of knowing each other, on conversations and sweet bickering, etc., etc.
- Characters were developing like crazy, hot damn. Ella, Brian, the Dad, Juliette, Ana (a tiny bit but hey!).
I'm not sure how I feel about some ladies needing a man by their sides to achieve self-confidence, but then again this is a 2014 book and that's what used to be up back then.

2.5 estrellas.
