I am not in a mood to write a review but I did enjoy the book. It was fast paced and made me feel all kinds of emotions.
HOWEVEr, I don't know if it is a personal issue but I found it really weird and uncomfortable that whenever there was a big fight/confrotation/scene, there were tons of people witnessing it (e.g. Rob and Ella meeting for the first time, Brian confessing his feelings etc). I would have felt SOOO awkward.

I liked it, even though it was really cheesy at the end. The two characters are likeable, even though Brian’s behaviour about “owning Ella” is somewhat problematic in my opinion.
The book wasn't anything particularly unique or earth shattering but it was definitely enjoyable. The book was light, fluffy, cute and definitely a quick read. I could have done without the love triangle, though. It was dumb and I hate love triangles. And I do wish that the main characters had met earlier in the book. "Content" and character development wise, I probably would only give this book 3 stars, but since it was so easy to read and enjoyable, I gave it 4.
When I saw the title, I figured that this would be a re-telling of the story of Cinderella. Now I am a big fan of all things fairytale, (one of my favorite shows on television is Once Upon a Time) especially modern day fairy tales with a twist. I don’t generally rely on reviews to determine if I should read a book, but seeing that this author is fairly new to me I changed my modus operandi. The reviews I read indicated that this was a good read so I took the plunge and I was glad I did.
This is a beautiful story of love, acceptance and healing. Be prepared to be taken on an emotional roller coaster ride that will likely stay with you for few a days. It’s funny and entertaining. It had me LOL, smiling, crying and angry. I was especially angered when Ella’s stepsister treated her like a pariah. The tears were as a result of the degradation she suffered at the hands of her peers.
What I loved most about this book is the interaction between Cinder aka Brian Oliver and Ella. Their banter was fun. The fact that they never met added to the mystery of their relationship. Here are two persons who have been communicating by internet and IM for three years and were able to develop a friendship that would prove to be as enduring as time. This friendship grew into love that would be life changing for both Cinder and Ella.
Overall, I enjoyed this book. It was a wonderful read. The characters, the plot and the writing were delightful. Cinder and Ella provides die-hearted readers like me with the perfect tools to escape reality, even if it’s just a temporary fix. If you love the concept of happily ever after and that of being swept off your feet by prince charming, then Cinder and Ella would the perfect read for you.
NB: I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

3.5 Sterne!

Not what I was expecting
Are you looking for a book that you don't want to get emotionally invested in? Then don't read this one. I think I got more emotionally invested in this book than Me Before You, and I sobbed buckets for that one.
Beware: potential spoilers
I love a Cinderella theme, and this one did not disappoint. Ella was a strong female lead, but she wasn't perfect. She was human and she was going through a whole heck of a lot. Brian/Cinder made for the perfect Prince Charming. He had his flaws, but his love for Ella won out. I loved the author's use of a book being turned into a movie and the bonding over a book. I can honestly say that's my version of a fairy tale relationship. Their banter was perfect. That perfect cross of bickering, flirting by the man, and the man being rebuffed because the woman doesn't think he is serious.
She created an entire cast of characters that felt human. They had their good parts and their bad. I liked that the family didn't get tied up in some neat little happy bow. They will need to work for it and they will struggle. Ella will have to deal with the fame and that will be hard for her, but at the end of the day that support system is important. I loved that the typical fairy godmother becomes her psychologist and the three little mice that help her get ready are her best friend and her best friends two dads. It was a great twist.
The author did a great job discussing Ella's depression and how she can work to live with and overcome that depression and anxiety. I could not imagine the struggle she was living with, but I do know what anxiety and depression can do to a person and how isolating that can be.
I won't lie. I wish I could see more of Ella and Cinder's future, but that's no reason to deduct any points from this read.
