Such a gorgeous cover!
this book was mainly building up for book three but i didn't mind that.
I loved the internal fight between helping her sibling or helping the prince.
I also really liked that everything just blew up in Kivas face in the end.

Definitely a step up from book one! I like the direction the trilogy is headed in, but it can definitely be a little predictable. Still think the main character is kinda annoying but it is what it is.

This is the second book in the A Prison Healer Trilogy by Lynette Noni.

I am so glad I read this book!

First, I read it because the awesome cliffhanger from book one.

Second, because... I almost quit reading this book..I’m not even sure I didn’t hate the main character, but I pushed through it, and..
I will now read every book, start to finish.
And..It made me love this author for her talent to make a dynamic, real feel story.

Third because this book was so good. The twists, the turns, the way it all played out, and of course the cliffhanger!

I loved the characters so much! The writing allows the main character one on one connections, but also each character is woven into the books world in a way that is interesting to me separate from the main character! Most authors can’t achieve this feeling for me and suck me into their world like I know them all!

I like to change genres between books in series, but I must say, after that cliffhanger from book 2, I started book 3 immediately!

Read this series if you love having a Fantasy thrill ride of emotions!

This book made me so irrationally angry, I’m so sorry. The constant conflict over whether or not the main character should be true to her family or found family had me so frustrated. Mostly because the turmoil felt so.. flat. The reasoning for one side over the other always felt so much stronger one way and it didn’t even seem like it should be a question. The lead characters own brother didn’t believe in their cause. And at every turn she learned something more awful about her family. AND the lead character had an ally who believed her good intentions on the found family side. So she would have had someone to corroborate her story with had she come forward. The way each unfolding of the plot had me punching at the air in frustration. I have to see it through to know how it ends, but this series just isn’t for me.

Tipp was my favorite character in the first book, but what can a child do against a sarcastic secondary character who could die at any moment in the book because he’s almost entirely written for that exact reason? nothing, Caldon I wish you were real
