I picked this up as a fan of Stanley Tucci's films. I've never once watched a movie with him in it without being charmed (no I haven't watched The Lovely Bones).
This book surprised me however by being filled with some of the most evocative and passionate descriptions of food and cooking I've ever encountered.
There is always something addictive and wonderful to hearing someone speak passionately about something they love but when it's luscious descriptions of food it takes it to qnother level. Halfway through listening to the audiobook I purchased a physical copy. I am still yet to have decided if I'll keep it for me or gift it to my mother.

Really warm and lovely memoir centered around Tucci’s love not just of food, but of sharing meals with others. He starts with the meals his Italian mother made for the family through modern day, but if you are looking for Hollywood secrets this isn’t the book for that. Much more focused on his personal journey and literally on the food in places he was filming. I listened to the audiobook which he reads and is so soothing, truly warm blanket of an experience. He also includes a ton of recipes (not as great on audio lol- made me HUNGRY and also a little hard to follow, especially for a non-foodie like me). The last chapter about his mouth cancer diagnosis and difficult treatment, including not being able to eat, really tied the whole book together.
