This was a typical Reacher novel. I liked it well enough for what it is. A fast, easy, slightly predicable, read. It just wasn't the best Reacher novel I've read.

I don't know why the Jack Reacher series is so appealing to me, but it is! (My typical genre of choice is more in the YA department, while these books lean into action, suspense, and mystery. It's a series both my dad and I enjoy, so if that doesn't speak to its versatility, I don't know what does!) Ever since I read my first Jack Reacher book, I've always been excited to pick up another. And when I do, without fail, I can't put it down! Definitely a series I use to get out of my reading slumps and really enjoy.

For this book specifically, I thought the premise was strong as always, and the characters were compelling as well. There were some minor twists that I predicted, but others I never saw coming. It was definitely a fun in-between to feel like I was in on the secret, but not too much that the book was predictable or boring.

With this series, I would recommend starting out with the first book, but they all can read as stand-alones as well, although there are some details from previous books that later books draw on. And I haven't read one yet that I didn't thoroughly enjoy!
fast-paced

I didn't enjoy the characters, including Edward Lane, so much in this novel. It was an interesting read, but not Child at his best.

I really enjoyed this book. Not bad for one I accidentally picked up when I was looking for something by Lincoln Child. I now have two more Jack Reacher novels on my "waiting to read" shelf. Very enjoyable read!

Better ending, but wanted more about the other people who got away.

Excellent and brutal as always.

Reacher witnesses a ransom pay out or what's supposed to be a ransom pay out. Don't mess with Reacher's sense of right and wrong! You'll get hurt! Loved it!

It's hard to read a book when the main character is an asshole.

Enjoyed this as I have all the jack reacher books. Also satisfying bc I figured this one out before reacher.
