I was a bit wary of Hari because of plagiarism scandals, and I found the style a bit hackneyed, in that- here's something nobody has discovered way. His argument that everyone dismisses the socio-environmental causes of depression is over stated, and prevents a more nuanced discussion of why many medical professionals do tend to go for medication- lack of time, supporting services etc . However, his list of connections as remedies- connection to others, to values, to the natural world etc, is a useful way to think about it

This has completely changed my perception of what depression acc is and the best ways to combat it.
So much of this book is fascinating, especially the different case studies that are decribed.
Would completely recommend to anybody suffering from depressive issues.

Most of topics listed are things that we have intuited, but never heard in such a succint manner and backed up by so much evidence. a
I am happy that this book allows us to return to cmmon sense. We do not just malfuntion and then call that depression. We are forced to cope with all kinds of ludicrous pressures, and when we become unhappy, we call that depression and try to mve on. now we have some tools to realize that these emotions are a warning that tells us to choose a different way of life. bravo!
