I liked part 1, but part 2 and 3 were boring, I struggled to finish.

This is a slow and difficult read. There is no action at all, and is almost purely taking place in characters' heads. It made me feel a sense of lonliness.
It is beautifully done and I especially loved everything in brackets in the Time Passes section. They break up the flowy, almost dreamlike narrative with a frank directness that impressed me.
I feel like this is a book one needs to read multiple times and will be coming back to it.

Beautiful book! Although I'd say The Waves is still my favorite Woolf.
I haven't read Woolf since college. Thick reading but still in awe of her ability.
The third of my lighthouse trilogy. I figured it was time to read some Virginia Woolf, and, the best thing i can say, about the Queen of Run-on Sentences, is that, with all respect, she has a very fine grip—almost vice-like, almost talon-edged, almost iron-clad—on the use of commas, and em-dashes. This, and this alone, seems to be, what one might call, lest we confuse with less worthy qualities, her super power.
