I really enjoyed this book! It had a slow start, but the middle and end were where it was hard to put down. I loved the found family aspect and being on the seas. I’m so intrigued to find out what happens next based on that cliffhanger! The characters were great and I loved the romance. Overall, a great book that leaves you wanting more. I’ll have to pick up the next book soon!
Content warning:Chapter 40 has a fade-to-black scene between two characters. It’s not very descriptive, I would rate it closed door personally.

Great YA pirate (ish) adventure! Capable FMC, lovable motley crew, and compelling conflict.
A bit repetitive and telling over showing, and I wished there was some comedic relief - it was a bit too serious for nearly 400 pages.

This book was different than I expected, but still good. I thought it was a little slow to start, but about an hour into the audiobook, it picked up. I hate to put books into a "gender" category, but even though the main character is a girl, I think there is enough stuff to interest boys, too.
