Robin Miles is a great narrator. Story was especially good at the start. I was less engaged the more I knew what was going to happen and why.

This was a beautifully immersive sci fi novella. It reminded me a lot of Octavia Butler's short stories in Blood Child. That being said I feel this story was done a disservice by being a novella. I think it had the potential to be so much more impactful if it had been a full length book.

This was a pretty short read. While I do like short books this was way short.
What upsets me is the most is that it had so much potential. The world building was absolutely amazing.
I personally did not connect to this book at all. I felt absolutely nothing. I honestly don't even know why anyone besides Binti were even given names they could've easily been refered to as "friends" or something.
I also feel like the part where she's starving could've been elaborated (besides many other parts) to make the reader feel something
Everything resolves so freaking easily.
I guess if everything were was a little more developed and if there were some actual failures by Binti, I would've enjoyed this a whole lot more.

Spoiler
I tried to remember those names when they first showed but then oh well they all just died. I felt like there was no charactet development, not even for Okwu.I also feel like the part where she's starving could've been elaborated (besides many other parts) to make the reader feel something

So I typically shy away from sci-fi stuff so I wasn't super excited to pick up this book. So it was a surprise that the first few pages had me put off a little bit, not sure what I was getting myself into.
BUT boy did I love this book, now I dont know if its because I like sci-fi more than I thought OR if its just because this book specifically is awesome but I loved it. Its a novella of about 90 pages so it was really quick to read, the pacing was great, the story was interesting and I'm SUPER exciting to read the next book.
I dont know what to say that wont spoil anything and since I went into it having NO clue what it was about I sort of think thats the best way to approach it. Hopefully you'll enjoy it just as much as I did. Futuristic tribal women, space travel, aliens, and all kinds of other stuff. It was cool.
