Zasadnicza różnica między pierwszą, a drugą częścią to odczucia czytelnika. Wiem, brzmi to dość dziwnie , ale zaraz wam wszystko wyjaśnię. W "Geek Girl: Modelka z przypadku " pech głównej bohaterki i głupie sytuacje, w które się pakowała dostarczały mi mnóstwo radości. Czytając drugą część już się nie śmiałam. Raczej współczułam Harriet. Polubiłam ją i to, że coś jej nie wychodziło już wcale mnie nie bawiło. Jednakże, były też pewne rzeczy, które mnie okropnie denerwowały! Mimo wysokiej inteligencji i zapewne ogromnej wiedzy na wszelkie tematy, Geek Girl była też dobijająco naiwna, dziecinna, nieobliczalna i nieprofesjonalna!
W notatkach miałam zapisane dużo więcej informacji na temat tej książki. Opisywałam w nich całe sytuacje, niechcący spoilerując całą fabułę. Dlatego też nie mogę tej części moich notatek przepisać do recenzji, co mam nadzieję mi wybaczycie.
Podsumowując, powieść mimo wszystko była bardzo zabawna i zaskakująca. W szczególności podobało mi się zakończenie, które było po prostu przegenialne ! Oczywiście, było również szalenie przewidywalne, ale to właśnie przewidywalność jest cechą charakteryzującą książki z serii o Geek Girl. Wiecie, kiedy wstawiłam na instagrama zdjęcie " Japońskiej Katastrofy" ktoś stwierdził w komentarzu, że dla niego książka ta była kompletną beznadzieją. Poczułam, że powinnam wyjaśnić dlaczego właściwie tak lubię powieści z tej serii i co skłoniło mnie do postawienia tak wysokiej oceny. Put this on hold while I stated Pivot Point, but now I finished it and I really enjoyed it! The drama with Nick was kind of upsetting considering it was mostly just a misunderstanding but it worked out in the end so who am I to complain. But there were other twists that were predictable but still enjoyable to read. I'm most upset that her father wasn't in this book as much, he is easily my favorite character (Toby and Wilbur are also up there)

I can totally relate to Harriet and I find her and her life really cool. Even the idea of it. And this book is just incredibly cute, I can't really say much more about it!I'm just so overwhelmed by the ending! I'd probably be able to write a proper review if I wasn't so overwhelmed ..
I also like how it's kind of a rollercoastor of feelings, one time you feel extremly happy and the next time terribly sorry for Harriet and still Holly Smale manages somehow to keep it all realistic ..

Model Misfit was as entertaining as its predecessor. There's still a bunch of cool facts and humors on the pages. The characters were lovely, though I have to admit that sometimes Harriet annoyed the heck out of me. Just like how I felt with the first book, Harriet telling random facts to every person she meets seems like showing off. However, I definitely saw a bit of myself in her and I think a lot of younger teenagers will be able to resonate better with her awkwardness and insecurity.
Model Misfit is set in Tokyo and since I looooove Japanese culture, I was pretty excited at first. There are Japanese words thrown here and there and the characters visit a lot of places. I truly appreciate the author's research but to my disappointment, the whole time I didn't feel like I was in Japan. And although I liked that everything wraps up nicely, the ending felt a little too rushed for me.
Overall, Model Misfit is an enjoyable read. It will make you think that no matter how hard it is now, everything will turn out okay in the end.
