It is interesting to watch this series evolve, even though I don't always enjoy it. Some parts of this book fell flat for me. I can't put my finger on what it was, but it felt rushed and lacking content. The ending still sucked me in though and I still love these characters as much as I loved them before.

Another fun saga of the Peculiar Children. Easy read, fun world, hoping that the next in the saga continues in the same vain.
I've enjoyed this entire series as it has developed a metaphor of bigotry throughout history. As we visit difficult time loops, we find that "different" is often labelled "dangerous" and leads to violence by those who feel threatened by the existence of the difference.
Not quite a four, but not a 3 either. A 3.5. Better than the fourth one. Tired of the same saga, but I can’t stop. I’ll be reading the sixth as soon as it comes out.

Hmm, maybe this series is running a little thin for my taste - we'll see how this second trilogy ends.
The beginning of this felt a little jumbled to pick up where #4 left off. In the previous book everyone was subdued and Miss Peregrine was treating them like children. Now all of a sudden everyone is just over being upset and Miss Peregrine is treating them more like adults. Things they were set on or adamant about in #4 don't seem to apply to this one, even the part where Jacob was told not to trust the Ymbrynes with Noor. Also, (in his book)the wording implied H lived in a loop? The previous book said he didn't. The transition from #4 to #5 was a bit sloppy. It got better after it got going.
The story was good. I don't like Emma as much in this story arc compared to the first one. She's gotten really angsty. Huge cliff hanger at the end of this one, not too happy about that. I hope I can read the next book fairly soon.

Jacob is trying to get Noor out of New York and into the safety of a loop. There, they meet back up with the other peculiars and Miss Peregrine. Noor is a part of an ancient prophecy predicting the end of the world. The question is, who are the other seven? War is looming with the wights and time is ticking as the peculiars and ymbrynes learn of a list of items the wights are gathering, one that makes things all the more dangerous. And Jacob gets closer to finding V. While this book wasn't quite as good as others in the series, I was still entertained. Noor is a great addition as a character and it was cool to see a bit more of the American loops along with spending more time in the present day.
Definitely not the strongest in the series. The photography has become less and less related to the actual story, and introducing new love interests feels clunky and unnecessary.
This book is better than the last one. I really enjoyed every bit of it and only wished it were longer. I hate cliff hangers. Now I have to wait for the next book to come out and I'm not very good at waiting. I can't wait to find out what happens to... well, everyone!
