Howard the Duck, the crankiest duck-man around. Hilarious. I was getting Squirrel Girl vibes, the way he's used to poke fun at the Marvel universe.

I picked this up to knock out the 'Book with an Animal in the Title' in my Comic/Graphic Novel interpretation of the Popsugar Reading Challenge - I got it mostly so I could whine to my husband about how stupid Howard the Duck is and how much I dislike the whole premise - but I was SO wrong! This book had me laughing out loud the entire way through, and now I have to go out and pick up the rest of the series - there are great references to rest of the Marvel Universe, and TONS of character appearances. I loved this so much!

Not nearly as bad as I expected. Sometimes clever, sometimes witty. And with guest stars like She-Hulk and Rocket Raccoon, actually used pretty well. I was made to care for a duck, at least a little bit. Sure it was also dumb, but nowhere close to like a Deadpool level. And Peter Parker was written wrong but in a way that captures Howards's perspective. And it recognized current Marvel Universe continuity and made use of it. Definitely not horribly bad.

More enjoyable than you'd think a comic about a talking anthropomorphic duck would be!

As someone who thinks of himself as a fan of Howard, I was a bit disappointed. Yeah, it's weird, yeah, it's funny, but the timing was a bit off. While the collection gets stronger as it goes along, it falls short of the heights of Squirrel Girl.

This is one, if not the funniest book I've read this year

4.5 Howard The Duck is hilarious and just plain fun. Glad I read this, really cute.

This story is delightful.

The protagonist is much more fun than I thought he'd be when I gave the first issue a go, each volume was filled with the kind of silly gags I like, and the art style is simple and enjoyable.
