This book was a little spooky. I loved it. The “bad guy” was who I guessed based on the first few chapters however I was second guessing myself throughout the whole book. What was real and what was not? Loved it. It was a little spooky and heartbreaking.

A delightful and dark YA fairytale retelling of " The Twelve Dancing Princesses." Eerie, atmospheric, and fun. I can still hear the waves and taste the salty wind.

this one definitely got me back into YA fantasy - I loved how it was verging on YA horror. Would have been a 5 star except I didn’t love the literal last 3 pages it just didn’t feel realistic - even for a fantasy. but otherwise, loved it

House Of Salt And Sorrows
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I don’t know what to say. This was so good!
The slow start was so uninteresting for me, but I really started to enjoy it further on. I was settling my thoughts on a 3 star rating for this book, but the ending made me change my mind.
It overpowered my dislike for the slowness and the parts I didn’t like, such as the craziness of it all.
There were so many twists and I only imagined there would be one; the reveal of the murderer. I guessed Fisher at first, after reading of Edgar falling from the second store window. I was so sure everything would be over after Cassius and Annaleigh was on the Old Maude lighthouse and discovered Fishers body and Kosamaras game, but no, everything had just started!
I liked the theme was the sea and gods and goddesses, it was so interesting to read about their way of living when they believed in such things!
I really enjoyed this and I love the way I can connect with having two little sisters of my own, and the fact that I’ve been living by the sea my whole life.
And I almost forgot to mention, it was so weird following Annaleigh as the main character, taking into a count the fact that my name is pronounced the same way, but spelled differently because of my language.
I hope I’ll get to discover books such as this once more, and hopefully I’ll be in the mood for it as I was with this!

Great and unpredictable book. One of the few mysteries that had me guessing until the very end with a good dollop of spooky horror on top.

I am very impressed that this was Craig’s first novel! I love fairytale retellings and this was a unique one. The ghost story aspect was surprising, but somehow it worked. The romance was a little weak. There are two love interests for Ellerie, but her ‘love’ developed too quickly with the guy she chooses.
I look forward to seeing what else Craig writes!
