This book took a lot of effort to understand. It all came together at the end though. Overall, it was good and I feel like I learned a lot.

What a great story! Also, this story proves I was never meant to be a lawyer or a businessperson.

A very readable tale about barons of industry at the turn of the 20th century, and the legal and innovation battles in electrifying American cities. I found parts of the fictionalized dialogue anachronistic--some of the characters acted or spoke in ways that felt too modern for a story set in the late 1800's. But I still really enjoyed the book and especially learning about Edison, Westinghouse, Tesla, Cravath, and the story of electricity.

I found it slow to start, but then got very interesting. The characters and events are all real. The story is about the patent for the electric light bulb and the rivalry and lawsuits among Edison, Westinghouse and Tesla. I didn't realize that Nikola Tesla probably was schizophrenic. I wish my Dad was here to read it!

Exactly what I'm looking for in historical fiction. I enjoyed the story a lot, and adored the author's note at the end that explained what led him to this novel and a breakdown of the major historical changes that were made.

I enjoyed this novel. It was a great look into the life of Paul Cravath and the events surrounding the lawsuit between Edison and Westinghouse. I like the way the story was written, and the drama was honestly entertaining. It felt a little slow at times to me, but overall it was a cool historical fiction read!
