Okay, hold up.... EVERYBODY STOP! THERE IS A CHARACTER WITH MY NAME! SPELLED THE EXACT SAME WAY, PRONOUNCED THE SAME WAY!!! THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN. I'M GONNA CONTINUE TO FREAK OUT....

Okay, but anyway. I really enjoyed this book! Very quick read and I can't help but love that the heroine has my name...🤷‍♀️

This was positively the most awkward book I have ever listened to. Between the narrating and the dialog I alternated between cringing and laughing at how bad it was. This book follows football player/ actor Gavin and maid Brianna as they muddle their way through their awkward meeting to lovers. Gavin is basically a douchebag the whole time, I honestly did not like him at all and Brianna is just too weak for my liking.

There are so many awkward moments just made worse by the narration. Honestly I don't think I have ever listened to anything narrated by Shannon Gunn (Gavin) and I just don't know why he pitched his voice the way he did. The sex made me laugh the most since it was mostly narrated in his voice and he tried so hard to put the appropriate inflections on the scenes but it was still in this weird slightly higher pitch and just cracked me up. After I finished this book I sampled a few of his other books and they aren’t nearly as bad so maybe it was just a bad day for him.

Brianna (narrated by Brooke Hayden) is just such a weak character that Gavin literally nicknames her bunny because she runs away like one in the beginning and acts like a scared little bunny. And she is just so taken with his Anaconda that she can't say no to him even when he acts like a dick to her. Multiple times she gets so angry with him and even before he’s even opened his mouth she’s forgiven him because of his big dick. He says come and she freaking does no real fight or anything knowing that he just wants her for sex. Brooke Hayden wasn’t as awkward of a narrator but still wasn't good either on this one.

I’d also like to point out that this book takes place over a week and they’re both just ready to give up their lives for each other and telling each other they love the other. Honestly they spent most of the time fucking and only technically went on one picnic date. I just don't get it. The epilog isn't much better since it's only a semester later and boom he's proposing and quitting his job and she's pregnant. Like really? Make him put some effort into jeez.

I don't even know what I just read honestly. I'm giving it two stars since at least it made me laugh even though I’m pretty sure the parts I laughed at were not meant to be funny. This is definitely not what I have come to expect from Lauren Landish. I've only read a couple of her books so far, I’m really hoping that more of her books aren’t like this.

It took forever to finish this very short read cause my mind kept wandering. I actually started planning my cleaning and laundry schedule for the weekend. No lie.

That's all I have to say about this book. Please read Rejane's review for more info.

I read first two books in this Bachelors series. I’m sort of getting sick of heroines who just come off immature, overreact, never stop and think- rather they go to extremes and imagine things in their heads(basically acting like 15 year olds) . It’s hard to like the plot that revolves around that.

While it was silly and predictable, I enjoyed the quick read.

😑 ... nope ...
