KL has done it again. Right from the very first page KL creates such beautiful imagery, enthralling you into this incredible world. KL's world building is amazing, she doesn't miss any detail to create such a vivid picture in your mind.
Heron Mill Tenebris is a continuation from Heron Mill, we follow Grace and Hunter again as they navigate parenthood and their all consuming love for each other.
The way KL weaves the inner struggle and demons of motherhood is fantastic, the fears every mother faces, the worry we feel, KL managed to draw it all out in Grace's inner thoughts. As a mother myself I felt connected to Gracie's worries and demons and KL captured it all clearly and perfectly. I love that we see Gracie coming out of her shell more, coming into her own and standing up for herself. I love how she can be so completely herself in front of Hunter, how Hunter sees the true her, the true monster inside her innocent demeanour. These two are incredibly aware of each other that the slightest touch leaves the other trembling.
I loved the fact that KL chose to name this book "Tenebris" Latin for darkness because anyone who knows Gracie and Hunter's story knows these two found each other in darkness, both wielding darkness within themselves , darkness being their safest place, it's all so fitting.
This story was hauntingly beautiful, with such a poetically gothic atmosphere. Fans of gothic romances with characters that thrive in the darkness please I beg you read this duet!

Hunter and Grace are two of my favorite characters ever. Hunter makes Grace feel like she's the most beautiful girl in the world and their connection thrives in the dark.
Grace can read people and she knows when things are off. She is also very protective of the ones she loves and would do whatever it takes to keep them safe. We see her go through a lot in this and when you get to the end, it all makes sense.
I couldn't get enough of them in Heron Mill and I am so glad we got a second book with them, but now I need more of the Blackwell Brothers. (And of course others, which are woven in to this story and I'm not saying who or anything because *spoilers*).
Anyway, I will repeat it again, some of my favorite characters ever...

Loved this sequel to hunter and grace’s story. The whole book felt like a hea. Not you’re typical hearts and flowers but with their signature darkness and twisted obsessions for eachother. Loved every dark moment of it

If you read Heron Mill, you know what you’re getting into with Hunter and Gracie - if you didn’t, I’d recommend starting there. These two have one messed up love story - it’s dark, it’s bloody and it’s good!
This one does a little fast forward from Heron Mill, but we get the blanks filled in pretty well. There’s shoutouts to the Swallows (from the Swallows and Psychos series by the same author) and I really hope that continues with the other books in this series.
Now when I think of dark romance, this is where I go. It’s bloody, it’s gruesome, it’s DARK. This is a trigger heavy series so check those out before you pick it up. Protect yourself if you need to.
I definitely enjoyed getting more of Hunter and Grace, glad that there are other brothers so we’ll get to keep up with their relationship and their children as well. Their story got the wrap up it deserved and I’m happy this second one came to be.
