Bold and Brash in its ideas and the front half has an evergreen quality in the many decades since its original publication. Even if the underlying premise does not play out past its revolutionary moment, the concerns voiced by Marx and Engels are ones that should not be ignored by any wishing to hold power or build a better society.
Even at just 26 pages, though, it feels like it lingers too long on the context of its age in the back half. While vital to the intellectual underpinnings of the intentions, this is where the age of this document becomes obvious. At the same time, these examples and historical thoughts could just as easily be updated to any area and time where the manifesto wishes to be expressed.
