Definitely needs trigger warnings, but overall a great read!

It’s MMF, which isn’t in the synopsis. I found the plot to be predictable, it’s almost reminiscent of Black Sails.
My main complaint is that I dislike when an author inserts a female into an established MM relationship. There’s truly no need and it just makes things awkwardly messy. Let Priest and  Ashley have their moment without throwing Bennett into the mix. Imo Bennett’s involvement detracted from their love story. But, just my opinion.

I enjoyed this book. I didn’t check the TW ahead of time and was a little thrown at first, but overall it was a well written story with a lot of twists, action, and intrigue. There was a point I didn’t want to put it down even though I was actively falling asleep! My only gripe was the number of times the author used “masculine” as a descriptor for the two MMCs. We get it. They’re *Men*. I think I just caught it at a bad time and it irked me throughout. But seriously other than that I really enjoyed it, it was a step out of my “comfort zone” of the fantasy/romantsy/fae world, an enjoyable read, and I mean, it’s pirates of the Caribbean, love. Savvy?

I really loved this one! It's a pretty spicy pirate romance with lots of drama, and dark themes (be sure to check triggers going into this). I loved the main characters, how their paths intertwined. The pirate vibes felt like a good mix of romanticized pirates with a little bit of historical pirates mixed in. The pacing and writing - the romance, the tension, the secrets and betrayal - were all done really well. While the story does all tie together in the end, I definitely wish this wasn't just a standalone.

Overall, this was a great pirate adventure/romance/mystery will all sorts of drama involved. I devoured this book and would definitely read again in the future.
