When it Raynes

At the end of the day Rayne is the mafia man we all want in fantasy land. Compromising but still a cuddly monster.

DID NOT FINISH

Penetration when the woman says no to sex without protection and only explaining why that it still safe after penetration is rape for me (he knows she’s clean (how? She had other boyfriends and one night stand) and that’s she’s on the pill and that he is clean as well). But explanation comes first FFS

Without a doubt a 5 star read for me I started this series because I saw quotes from Fall of Snow on TikTok and decided to start with book 1 and have zero regrets

When it Raynes is the first book in the Frost Industries series by Montana Fyre. This book follows the story of Emerson and Rayne. Emerson is drowning in debt thanks to her ex. She is working three jobs to pay it off. While she is at the youth centre she runs with her father, she meets Rayne Saint James who is volunteering at the centre. Emerson is attracted to Rayne as soon as she meets him for the first time. Rayne is the enforcer for his family. He instantly falls for Emerson and wants to keep her safe. They clash a bit due to Emerson being fiercely independent and Raynes needing to protect her from everything. He is an overprotective and won't take no for an answer alpha male. This was such a fast-paced read I couldn't put it down. The spice in this book was amazing. Their chemistry was amazing. I loved the rest of Raynes's siblings.
I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

Often, I refuse to read these kinds of novels because the line between a dark romance novel and a bad book is quite fine. This one, however, managed to surprise me. I liked the characters, and although the story progressed a little too quickly in my opinion (getting married within a month of knowing one another is enthousiastic to say the least), it was nice to read this book.

This book was just ok. It was a lot of insta love and frankly the MC was a very flat, bland character. I feel like the side characters had more personality than her.

He kept calling her a spitfire but like…besides one badass moment she mostly was just inner monologuing about how horrible her life is. Also how was this girl literally running on no sleep? Like there are limits to how long you can go without sleep. And she just took on the debt instead of reporting it??? Like you are responsible enough to run a youth center but figuring out how to report fraud is too hard?

Rayne was a bit too possessive too fast and it was hard for me to read. I think that just isn’t a trope for me. Possessiveness and being protective is great but they knew each other for 2 days and is struggling with the fact that she just doesn’t immediately say ok to him basically taking over her life? Idk I feel like I’ve seen this type of character/relationship written better.

Also this needs another proofread, there were inconsistencies and grammatical errors.

So much more than expected

It was rough and dirty. Rayne is the perfect alpha male. I didn't know what to expect from this but it was so much more. This is my first book from author Montana Fyre. I hope to read more from this series when it becomes available.

This is probably the most boring book in the "Dark Romance-genre" I have ever read. I started this book in october 2022 and finished it today, 27/12-23. It has taken me 14 month to get done with this book because every time I picked it up, I couldn't read more than a couple of pages before I was bored out of my mind.

The writing is no good either. Everything is repeated at least 10 times and my eyes is stuck inside my head after all the eye-rolling I did. And don't let me get started on their goddamn names; Rayne,  Snow, Storm, Wynter and lets not forgett Frost-Entreprice. *eyetwitch*
