This Mafia he falls first is a great read. He has instalove which is less my vibe but works for the drama here. She has rubbish exs including one that racked up massive debt in her name. There is no third act breakup which is nice but there is on the page SA and kidn@pping reader beware. I’ll be reading the others and hopefully less instalove.

Whew! Give me possessive men who will burn the world down for the ones they love any day!! From the start, I was head over heels in love with Rayne. I couldn't understand why Emerson couldn't get over herself and just jumped him. I mean, come on. He did everything for her and protected her. I actually didn't like her fake independence thing. She thought that accepting Rayne and his family meant she was giving up herself. It made no sense, especially with how supportive and amazing her dad was. On top of that, i don't feel that she even had a personality other than assuming things and completely stupid. She made decisions that didn't make sense.
I did love her fight and drive for the Center. That made her bearable! But I prefer all the other characters in the book before her. Rayne, wynter, storm, snow, her dad, etc love them all! They are great. And that last sentence devastated me!!!! I hate it for Rayne and the rest of them! I'm so ready for Rayne and the siblings to get revenge on the Russos! Please destroy them! Begging for this!
The only reason this book isn't a 5 star read for me is because of Emerson. She was a two-dimensional doll. There wasn't anything compelling about her except for the Center. And when she was talking to Rayne she had me rolling my eyes. The amount of ASSumptions she made pissed me off. No explaining just ASSuming she knew better 🙄 ugh ok enough of her! The rest of the book was amazing!

This book definitely held my attention. Emerson Miller works three jobs to try and keep her head above water from the debt an ex left her drowning under.
Rayne Saint James is the enforcer of one of Chicagos highest mafia families. He cares about his family and getting the job done. No time or desire for emotions or feelings.
Until he meets Emerson. From the minute he locks eyes with her he is hooked and even though she doesn’t know it he has already made the decision she is his.
Their story has many hurdles to get past the most dangerous one being another mafia king who owns the club where Emerson works as a waitress on her third job has also set his sites on her.
I read this book in two days because it held me captive and I do highly recommend it. Find out what Emerson goes through when two mafia families collide.
