🌶️🌶️.5 - for frequency once it gets going and some dirty talk. But it’s vanilla.
The first word that comes to my mind is “basic” if you’ve read a handful of mafia romances…. You’ve already read this one.
Rayne is the enforcer of an organization with criminal ties. He meets Emerson and decides it’s love at first sight. Emerson is your typical good girl, though not virginal.
Rayne pursues her in typical obsessive fashion. “You’re mine now and your stuff will be here by morning.”
And Emerson gives the typical response “I can’t stay here and I’m going to throw a fit because if I didn’t there would be no story. But duh I’m obviously delighted to be pseudo kidnapped by a hot crime lord”
Some relationship growing pains. She’s threatened. He saves her. They live HEA… the end.
I honesty only gave this more than one star because I did get to the end with heavy skimming and it’s not the author’s fault that I’ve read like 50 of these stories already.
So if you’re new to mafia romance with an OTT. J/P male and sweet heroine….. there are better ones out there. But this isn’t a bad one to get your toes wet.
The writing is a bit repetitive and if I read “sweet girl” one more time I might have thrown up in my mouth….
