So poetically written. Her ability to present things beautifully and bluntly allows her to communicate and re-present ideas, new and old, in a way that connects with the hearts and minds of readers. I find this connection between logic (mind) and soul (heart) is vital. Social justice is logical but also emotional and requires empathy. One without the other and we are lost. I think Lorde finds the perfect balance.
I especially loved her essays on the erotic and anger. They are absolutely liberating and empowering.
As a black queer woman, she has serval perspectives through which she sees the world and the world sees her. Black women, I believe are the best listeners and teachers. Lorde is no exception.

Very important read, even/especially today.
Some quotes that stood out to me:
"All too often guilt is just another name for impotence, for defensiveness destructive of communication"
"I have no creative use for guilt, yours or my own"
"Make no mistake, you will be courted; and nothing neutralizes creativity quicker than tokenism"
