I forget how much I love this book until I read it, and then I'm like, how could I forget!
There is humour, sadness, joy, and love, and I feel all the emotions!
I don't think I'll ever get through this book without crying, though! I know it's coming, but I cry and mourn every time!
Violet is fantastic and so firey! She is not the fragile girl everyone thinks she is!
What's not to love about Xaden? A shadow wielder, grumpy, morally grey mmc.....sign me up!

Fourth Wing completely pulled me in from the very first chapter. The world-building is immersive, with a high-stakes military academy setting that kept me on edge throughout. I loved following Violet’s journey as she faced impossible challenges and grew into her own strength. The dragons were fierce and fascinating, adding depth to the fantasy elements while also raising the stakes.

What stood out most to me, though, was the romance. The connection between the characters wasn’t just chemistry, it had emotional weight that made me root for them through every obstacle. The combination of action, tension, and heartfelt moments made the story enthralling. By the end, I didn’t just want to keep reading...I needed to.

This book reminded me why I love fantasy so much: it blends thrilling adventure with emotional resonance. If you enjoy fast-paced stories with danger, strong character arcs, and a romance that makes your soul happy, Fourth Wing is a must-read.

Goodness me this is one of the best books I've read in a long time! Worthy of more than 5 stars and I'm sorry I ignored it for so long because of the booktok hype...
Violet Sorrengail is a true unlikely hero of a main character, her flaws are the making of her throughout the story. The side characters are so well described and equally developed I felt like I was there with every one of them, getting into their heads when she was. SO MANY TWISTS! I've laughed, cried, and shouted ha at this book way too many times. Every fantasy fan should read this! Can't wait to read the next books in the series now after that ending wow.

“But most importantly, if I go, if I hide… I’ll never know if I’m good enough to make it here. And while I might not survive if I stay, I’m not sure I can live with myself if I leave.”

“It only takes one desperate generation to change history - even erase it.”

“Even temples can be rebuilt, but books cannot be rewritten.”

The absolute chokehold that these characters & this world has on me… I can hardly think of anything else. This book was absolutely spectacular, I have absolutely no notes.

Enemies to lovers? ✅
Dragons? ✅
Touch her & die? ✅
Lots of lore? ✅

This book was both well worth the wait it took to get delivered AND worth the hype all over the internet. I love Violet, she’s small and smart and she doesn’t let her size stop her from anything. She is (by the end of the book) surrounded by some of the most dedicated and badass people and as their stories intertwined I couldn’t help but get more and more excited.

I cannot wait to see where the second book picks up. And one last time, I just want to emphasize FUCK Dain. All my homies hate Dain.
