What a great conclusion to a great series. Cute, funny, entertaining, there’s not much more you could want in a book.

Given this is a children’s book, it’s exceptionally long. Is that a bad thing. Not necessarily. Though, at times I do doubt if all the craziness will come to a nice wrapped up conclusion. Somehow it always does.

I was slightly disappointed by the epilogue as certain things with Jenna and Beetle (ie did they finally start dating) was left open ended. But I guess I’ll just have to read the spin-off series to get my answer.

This is the final installment to the Septimus Heap series and I absolutely hate to see this series come to an end. We have watched Septimus and Jenna and all the other characters grow and change over the course of this series and this book does a wonderful job of tying things up.

There is so much that I loved about this book. We see how the kids have grown up and changed so much. Jenna comes into her own as she learns to become queen. Septimus knows he has to make a decision about his future and does so with maturity. Even the adults go through a lot of changes. Marcellus, Marcia, Milo, and others are a big part of this book. And while Septimus may not be the absolute main focus of this book, he is still very much a big part of it. I would have loved to have seen more of Spit Fyre in this book. He, along with Stanley the mail rat, was kept along the sidelines. There were also some bittersweet moments as we saw how Aunt Zelda had aged. All of us have had an aging parent, grandparent, or other relative and know how difficult this can be. We really felt how this can be as we see Zelda having difficulties. Wolf Boy also had changes in his life as its revealed who is really is and what his future holds.

Overall, I LOVE this series as well as this wonderful ending to it. Even though this is a great series for Middle Grade Age, its a fun read for adults too. I loved the humor and the magic as well as the family and relationships. I would recommend this series to anyone that is just looking for a fun read.

I actually finished this a few days ago and it was amazing

The final novel in the Septimus Heap series. How does this novel stand in comparison to the rest? Read this review to find out what made the series and this novel captivating and why it was a beautiful ending to a magical tale.

GAH! What a perfect ending to a perfect, wonderful, highly entertaining and well-written series! Angie wrapped up things so nicely, while also whetting my appetite for her new series. She brought everything together is this book (both plot lines/points and characters), which made it a very satisfying read. I can't properly explain how much I've grown to love this series. Angie is definitely now one of my favourite authors, and this series is definitely in my top five series of all time. I'm sad that this chapter of Septimus's life is over (in book form), but I know he's in the next series, so at least I'll get to read more about him (and hopefully a lot of the other characters from this series) in it. I'll be waiting impatiently until then. ;D

After all these years it is over, I've enjoyed these books a lot, altough I must say that Fyre wasn't as good as I expected or wanted it to be. In any case thank you Angie Sage for the adventures!

Loooooved it! My favorite part was finally getting a time period: 12,004 AD. This only leaves me with one question- obviously, the world belonged to technology, just like our, but sometime in the future something happens to reset culture to medieval times, but technology never fully recovered because magic came into the picture. So the question is, HOW did magic get into the picture?
