Firestar's his usual brand of occasionally tiresome (especially when he's lamenting about his dumbass crush on a dead lady) and this 100% should've been Sandstorm's book, but the story it tells is fresh and new, and SkyClan is deeply interesting both conceptually and as characters. 3.5 stars rounded up.

Absolute banger

spottedleaf floats down from cat heaven just to come to sandstorm as a woman

wait seriously why are these books so good? This one made me cry too. rip rainfur my homeboy. also mourning the fact that this was the last firestar pov. I'll miss you.

This super edition suffers from a particular problem that some of the others do, and that is the pacing. Firestar's quest is to revive the long lost clan, though it takes him about half the book just to journey with Sandstorm to the right place. Not to say this is a bad read but it wasn't exactly a page turner, and I kinda uniquely struggled to get through it.

Really drags in the middle

Rating: 8 out of 10

I am pleased to say this book was way better than I expected. The first 25% percent wasn’t very promising, so I thought I would give it three stars. However, once Firestar and Sandstorm arrived at the gorge, the story just got better and better.

I loved the new cast of characters; they had diverse and interesting personalities, and by the climax of the book I already cared deeply about all of them.

The plot was simple but suited the book, which I felt was more focused on the characters. Still, the final battle was really exciting and I liked how they won using strategy as well as brute force.

Other things I enjoyed were the sweet moments between characters (new and old) and how Firestar and Sandstorm’s relationship was managed. Everyone was in character and there were even some hints to the second series.

I recommend this book to every Warriors fan or person interested in the premise. It doesn’t disappoint!
